Frequently Asked Questions
-
Getting started is simple. Contact us to book an initial consultation or make an enquiry by email, or through the contact form on our website.
At your first appointment, we will take the time to understand your needs, goals, lifestyle, and daily activities. We will assess your requirements, explain the available orthotic or prosthetic options, and provide a clear, detailed quote.
If you are eligible for NDIS funding, we can also guide you through the process and provide the supporting information needed for your plan or funding request.
-
Yes. While we are currently navigating the formal NDIS registration process, our services are available to NDIS participants who are self-managed or plan-managed (excluding NDIA).
We also welcome clients who are supported through a range of private health insurance schemes, as well as clients accessing funding through MASS.
If you are unsure whether your funding arrangement can be used for our services, please contact us, and we will be happy to discuss your individual circumstances and guide you through the process.

Nexus AT offers mobile home visits across the Moreton Bay region for consultations, 3D scanning, fittings, and adjustments.
Home appointments help reduce travel stress and fatigue, while also allowing us to better understand your daily environment and individual needs. This helps us provide more practical, personalised orthotic and prosthetic support.
Please note that unless exceptions are made, we do not accept new clients residing outside the Moreton Bay region. However, if you are outside our service area, we can provide details and referrals to other orthotic and prosthetic clinics near you.
-
Once casting and fabrication begin, most prosthetic and orthotic devices can usually be manufactured and fitted within 2–4 weeks.
However, the overall timeframe can vary depending on funding approval. Applications through the NDIS, workers compensation, or insurance providers may add extra time between your initial assessment and the start of casting or fabrication.
We’ll keep you informed throughout the process, prioritise urgent cases where possible, and work closely with you and your funding provider to help things progress as quickly and smoothly as possible.
-
The cost of a prosthetic or orthotic device varies depending on the type of device, the materials used, the level of customisation required, and the complexity of the individual’s needs.
Many Australians who require a prosthetic or orthotic device may be eligible for funding through the NDIS, workers’ compensation, private health insurance, or other insurance schemes.
We will provide you with upfront pricing and a detailed quote in our service agreements and work with you to find a cost-effective solution that meets your needs while maintaining high standards of care, functionality, and quality.
-
No referral is required for private self-funded and NDIS clients who are plan or self-managed.
Referrals are required for clients wanting access to services linked to their DVA, MASS and other government subsidies.
You’re welcome to contact us directly.
We are happy to work closely with your GP, physiotherapist, specialist, or allied health team to ensure coordinated care.
